About Recovery Physio

Meet Sharon

Hi, I’m Sharon Young a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in

post-operative therapy for hip and knee replacements.

Before becoming a physiotherapist, I served 6 years in the military. A back injury and surgery ended my career, but it also opened a new chapter. Frustrated by the standard treatments that suggested I should "live with my pain," I sought private physiotherapy. A hands-on sports physiotherapist helped me address my postural issues, and for the first time in years, I stood straight without pain!

That moment inspired me to pursue a career in physiotherapy. I quit my job, applied for my course, and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2014. Ten years later, I’m passionate about providing the care that so many people need.

Qualifications

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and am registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (Registration Number: PH104583). I am also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

To ensure I maintain the highest standards of care, I continually develop my skills through professional learning to stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in physiotherapy.

Our Mission

At Recovery Physio, our mission is to ensure every patient can reach their full potential in rehabilitation, regardless of their ability to access traditional therapy departments or clinics.

We treat every patient with dignity and respect, offering a compassionate, hands-on service that uses proven, science-backed techniques.

Our focus is on helping patients regain mobility, independence, and quality of life, no matter their starting point.

Our Approach

What sets me apart is my hands-on approach to therapy.

I combine soft tissue massage with clinically proven techniques that aren’t always offered in traditional therapy settings. My goal is to bridge the gap in care, ensuring that every patient has access to high-quality, individualised therapy, no matter the sector or setting.

I focus not just on exercises, but on delivering a full spectrum of treatment to meet the unique needs of each patient.

I believe in a holistic approach to recovery, addressing not only the physical but also the mental and emotional aspects of healing.

I understand that post-operative recovery can be as much about rebuilding confidence and reducing anxiety as it is about physical rehabilitation.

By offering empathetic support and understanding, I help my patients feel confident and empowered at every stage of their recovery.
